Therapeutic Services Available

The private practice Margo operates is based on her education in occupational therapy, massage therapy, and marriage & family therapy; combining body/mind/spirit approaches when indicated, such as cranial-sacral therapy, Reiki, creative visualizations, and dialogue with parts of our inner selves. Her doctorate in Educational Leadership expanded her consultation work to organizations, businesses, and other groups who want to function more effectively.

My purpose is to give you the tools to be independent of my services, to know your strengths, direction, and the means to attain your goals.

My training has prepared me to work with all ages and conditions, as an experienced therapist with three licenses in CT:

  1. Occupational Therapist #000097
  2. Massage Therapist #000083
  3. Marriage & Family Therapist #00051

Massage Therapy techniques:

Swedish Massage is the ‘standard’ in the U.S. and can incorporate deep tissue work and sports massage strokes.
Cranial-sacral Therapy as taught by Dr. John Upledger (see for the courses that I have taken) is a subtle, light touch technique to adjust the muscular and fascial systems where restrictions may have occurred due to birth, injuries, or surgeries.
Reiki Healing is thought to have originated in Japan or Eurasia, and my training is at the Master Reiki Level, which means I teach Reiki One & Two classes and will mentor people to the Master Level, as appropriate. Many hospitals offer  this kind of energy healing to reduce pain, induce relaxation, and promote better sleep and restoration.
Chakra Balancing probably originated from the continent of India, where other yogic practices are used to stimulate the endocrine glands through breathing and movement strategies. This healing is done with clothes on, hands above the body, to stimulate the center of your ‘plumb line” of energy to assist all physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual systems into balance.

Occupational Therapy skills:

Pediatric Evaluation and Consultation is available with my expertise being in learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, autism, sensory integration, and fine motor and activities of daily living skills.
Career Decisions for teens and adults: Learning Coping Strategies for troublesome life transitions such as meditation, deep breathing, and self-management of emotions.
Spiritual Development is taught using material from books and lectures I have attended, which provide a metaphysical context to perceiving yourself and the world in which you live.

Marriage & Family Therapy focus:

Psychotherapy based on clients’ goals in either Individual,, Couples, or Family Therapy sessions.
Neurofeedback is offered for certain diagnostic conditions such as: anxiety, depression, and dealing with chronic pain or disability.

Your goals are what matters, but here is what I consider possible:

  • Be able to practice new skills outside of the office space and time, to become proficient and independent of my services on a regular basis.
  • Learn to center, ground yourself, and meditate for the purpose of self-knowledge and self-reflection.
  • Have the ability to choose from a myriad of options and possibilities for your future well-being.
  • Access resources in your family as well as community members to support your transitions and desired change.
  • Communicate what you really mean to say and handle with grace what you hear.
  • Explore non-verbal ways of knowing yourself using art media, dreams, writing, and movement.

Insurance bills provided monthly for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Depending on your policy, coverage can vary, so call your insurance company ahead of time to inquire about your coverage for “Behavioral Health Services”—which is insurance-speak for any type of mental health service such as Marriage & Family or Individual Therapy.
